Stone Giant DirectX 11 Benchmark


Både Nvidia og ATi har nu funktionelle grafikkort på markedet som understøtter den nyeste DirectX 11 standard på markedet, men det er stadigvæk ganske få titler og test programmer der kan arbejde med disse teknikker. Men efterhånden som tiden går fra lancering af disse kort dukker flere og flere demo/test programmer frem på nettet og denne gang er det Stone Giant som er udviklet af BitSquid og Fatshark i Sverige.

Oprindeligt er programmet udviklet som et værktøj af BitSquid til at teste hvordan det opfører sig i “real world” omgivelser.

Demoen arbejder med hård DX11 hardware tessellation for at opnå et ekstremt højt niveau af geometry detaljer i næroptagelser.

Stone Giant fungerer kun til Nvidia GF100 baseret kort samt hele ATI HD5000 serien under Windows Vista eller Windows 7. (Kan dog afvikles i DirectX 10 miljø, men uden tessellation aktivt)

Stone Giant is a DirectX 11 demo produced by Fatshark in collaboration with BitSquid using BitSquid Tech. It has primarily been developed to test the BitSquid tools and technology in a real-world production environment. The demo showcases how DX11 hardware tessellation can be used to achieve a high level of geometry detail in close-up shots. For users lacking a DX11 compatible GPU the demo also supports a DX10 fallback path with tessellation disabled.

The demo has a cinematic sequence that you can use together with the built-in performance statistics to measure the performance of your GPU.

The demo starts with the camera in free-flight mode, allowing you to fly around and study the environment in detail. From the free-flight mode you can start the cinematic sequence or jump between five different predefined close-up shots. The close-up shots have been designed to show the visual differences between the different tessellation settings and depth of field effects available in the demo.

    Hold da kæft der er forskel på DX10 og DX11 :O

    Og det kræver faktisk ikke det vilde. Min ene 5770 trækker det med 17-22FPS i højeste :) og i medium på tessellation klare den med 30FPS.

    Så det kan sagtens hurtig blive en realitet :)

    Dit system kan ikke afvikle dette program.. WTF min XP er da ellers super opdateret og det hele. LOL
